I see followers of Christ arguing over who is right and who is wrong. On one side there are Catholics, on the other side there are evangelicals (protestants). Why argue among yourselves over trifle matters? Do you not understand that both are drawn to the same God through Jesus Christ? So one believes that through intercession of another can bring them closer to God. Is this a crime? Who better to ask then someone who has gone ahead of you and has already seen the glory of God, or those who has committed their whole life to serving God through relationship to Jesus Christ, Y'shua! There is but one source for forgiveness of sins and miracles, and that source is God. How God chooses to deliver is for God to decide. God enables men (and women) to perform great and wonderful things. It is true that both sides have been institutionalized by man (humans), and humans are imperfect; causing problems is what we do, we are human. We sin, therefore we are flawed. This is why we need God. There have been numerous factions from all sides of the institutional church. These factions have given rise to heresies and scandals on all sides. The true Church is the body of Christ, which is made up of many members. Instead of arguing over who is right and who is wrong, pray for one another that we all may receive the truth from the only one capable of delivering it: God. There is a greater threat to the Christian faith than the Catholic or Protestant church. Allow healing through prayer to restore the divisions within the one Church so we can unify ourselves and strengthen ourselves, that we may endure and overcome whatever threat that tries to hurt us.
I am neither Catholic or Protestant. I was raised an evangelical by evangelical parents, but have since also found God through a relationship with my Catholic brothers and sisters. I do not foresee a time when I will join the Catholic church through RCIA, which is simply a process instated by the Roman See (an institution). So wherever you choose to serve God in relationship with Him in Christ Jesus, do so humbly with thanksgiving and love. Knowing completely that the same God working in you is also working in everyone. Whether you be Catholic, Evangelical, or whatever (within the realm of Christianity), practice your faith out of devotion to Jesus Christ, not in discord. Know who your true enemy is, which is the devil. Thanks be to God for HIS steadfast love!

It doesn't matter whether you are Jew or Greek (catholic or protestant), slave nor free, male or female, you are all one in Christ Jesus. [Galatians 3:28]
